Just like cookie time yummo! Going to make them again tonight, they lasted only day in our house!
will definitely make these again, they were delicious!
perfection i made these for my grandchildren and they loved them you can make them big or small just takes less time cooking for small. I did not add the white sugar just the brown as there is far to much sugar in all bakeing today.they tasted just as nice with less sugar thank you so much for this recipe.
formed 3 big cookies lol
Very nice, I used baking powder instead of soda (always do if possible because I hate the yucky metallic aftertaste of soda)
Delicious! Just watch the setting you put it on, we burnt our first batch but the second was delicious!
I am living abroad and have really enjoyed having my own 'cookie time' like cookies to share with friends over here. They do make enormous cookies and they are lovely and thick - I have even made large chocolate blocks to break and put in, just like the bought ones. They deserve 10/10!
Emmmmm I luv cookie time biscuits. I am sooooooo making some for my brothers and sister and parents
tamsila ...NO baking soda and baking powder are not the same!
Sanusha ...you could try making sure your cookie dough is really firm, so a little less butter (make sure it's butter your using and not margarine).
is baking soda the same as baking powder
I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but mine just flops! I take it out of the oven and after a few minutes it sinks and becomes completely flat! It looks so yummy in the picture, i'm desperate to get it to come out right
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lovely treat to have on afternoons.
Go Boris....These cookies tick all the boxes. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Lianne
Absolutely the best recipe ever. I freeze half the recipe in rolls to be made up quickly when we run out. Note the defrosted mix doesn't tend to spread as far and makes a small firm cookie. Davine!
Really fab taste great and easy to do with the kids!!!
Hmm well just looking at all these great reviews i think im gonna have to try this recipe hope its as good as everyone says :)
Everyone I know who's tried these absolutely loves them. They are SO delicious and save alot of money spent on cookie times... :O)
these are the best biscuits i made them for my mum and she loved them!!! =]
made theses at work a few times and everyone loved them, the texture and taste is perfect.will be making theses tonight for sure..
Well, I am one of the flatmates of the below-comment author. I feel obliged to mention that our lovely cook is actually a geologist working in a natural disaster oriented dept at Uni... which explains the semantic field used in his comment. Your subductionnal message about cleaning was really sneaky bru' no? I'll have to bake more of these cookies myself at least as much as the size of the Sphinx ter' make you clean the house then!
But I must admit that these are high level cookies! PS my flattie used Whittaker's dark ghana... perfect... (looks like this amazing ad worked on us!)
keep on cookying
Yes I concur...these cookies provide a taste and texture comparable to the much loved Cookie Time cookie biscuit. If i didnt have such a busy schedule I would go into full time production of cookies and sell them as 'Cookie O'clock'.
I also had a similar experience, when under heat and temperature the mixture metamorphs into a 'molten lava' like state (mate) and if not adequately contained to the baking tray will threaten to inundate your oven with cookie mixture. If you are fortunate enough to prevent this from happening, then all the wee little cute cookies wookies will join forces to form one huge giant cookie which can then cause havoc and destruction within the kitchen unless it is swiftly dealt to with a knife and consumed on site...But that is just the way the cookie crumbles.
My flat mates loved this recipe, and it should get me out of cleaning, house hold chores for maybe a couple weeks.
Highly recommend recipe!!
Can you please tell what kind of vanilla? Is it vanilla essences?
OMG so GOOD loved them so much haha im baking more right now!!!
xx
These are the best choc chip biscuits i have ever had ! And i usually don't like home made biscuits ! thank you so much Boris : )
Absolutely loved them!
wow just read the reviews, I guessed a cup of butter at 500gms, biscuits were divine. I will definitely make these again. thank you.
These are great, Makes around 30 but they do tend to spread. The trick is to beat butter and sugar until JUST fluffy . I might try half shortening and half butter to see if they hold up better next time.
great biscuits! was hard for me to get them from undercooked to just right though and they are very easily burned. 9 minutes was a great time for me.
Here's my tip: use a measuring teaspoon to scoop out the cookie mixture (leveled flat). It makes cute little biscuits and all your cookies will be the same size. This cookie mix tends to spread a little once in the oven, so make sure you leave some space between each one on your baking tray.
If I substitute the chocolate chips with chocolate buttons do I still use 2 cups?
awsme
so quick and easy!!!
1 Cup of butter is approx 225g . Hope this helps :)
They really do taste like Cookie Time biscuits!!! YUM!
I used a block of Cadbury Old Gold (Mildly Dark) chopped up for my choc chips, worked really well! Made the biscuits taste more like authentic Cookie Times.
I creamed the butter and sugar for about 10min tho so I wouldn't say 10min prep time is correct for the whole recipe!!
The biscuits did merge together on the tray though lol but no big deal!!
GREAT RECIPE :D
These are the best choco-chip biscuits I have ever made! I used chocolate chunks as well as chocolate chips. So yummy. Highly recommend this reciepe.
These were great, next time i will freeze half of the mixture, so none go to waist.
These are abolutely fab ... even my daughter ate them (yep she's is pretty fussy) ... only one thing to say, could the 1 cup of butter be a weight, otherwise perfect. Well done...
I whipped mix up in food processor - very easy. Too sweet for me though, will reduce sugar next time. Made 25 and they are quite large , could easily make up to 30 decent sized biscuits using this recipe. Thanks Boris.
Marvelous. One try and im sold. Ive tried so many other biscuit recipe but this one is by far the easiest and quickest way. On the plus side....you get more......mmm. Kids love it!
I love them they are so delicious. I've made them about 5 times and now I'm going to make it with Cadbury chocolate. MMMMMMM!!!!
Charlotte you must have made a mistake with the measurements! Maybe you are new to baking? I have made these biscuits over a dozen times now and never had a problem. I would say this is an ultra easy recipe and pretty much fail proof.
Absolute Disaster! the whole mixture seemed to melt in the oven and form one giant cookie that seemed to just keep growing. hilarious episode but disastrous all the same!
just like the ones u buy at the shop, but only better and fresh, nothing is better then home cooked "fresh out of the oven"
I made this up rolled it into a big log wrapped it up in cling wrap and froze it then i take it out when i need it and just slice some off and put in the oven, I make a large batch so i always have a few logs in the freezer
loved it
To answer Charlie - Cookie Time use Cadbury chocolate, just the same as those big purple blocks you buy (the ones made in Dunedin, not Australia)
I just did a factory tour a couple of weeks ago, the whole place smelt amazing
whoa yum
even better than Mrs. Fiel*s cookies
damn, few biscuits and made me full already!!!
227g butter equals 1 cup. I have made this recipe and it is great. I agree with Liv, these cookies taste exactly like the cookies from "Cookie Time" (a New Zealand company)...I wish I could find the chocolate Cookie Time uses for the choc chips. Anyone know?
how much is a cup of butter?
I love this recipe! Its so easy, EVEN THE KIDS AND HUBBY CAN MAKE IT!!!
So its gotta be good, lol.
A hit with all the family and friends. thank you Boris!!
Love these! And Master 4 helps me make them.
I love that it is such a good quantity and do half as per recipe and add a little cocoa to the second lot for something different.
Firm favourite when baking with us. Thank you! :-)
wonderful! quick, delicious and great for the whole family. Thank you!
Fantastic recipe, our 3 kids loved them, recipe makes lots of cookies-very economical.
Room temperature butter, so it's soft and will cream up well with the sugar.
Probably a silly question, but what is a cup of butter? - is that a cup of melted butter????
This is the first time, I have baked biscuits at home. The results turn out amazing, my son loves it and can not stop eating it. Thanks for sharing such wonderful recipe.

Havent made them yet, was just checking you dont need baking powder as well?
