This self saucing chocolate pudding is easy and fast to make.

Prep time:   20 minutes
Cook time:   40 minutes
Servings:   4 people

Ingredients:
Ingredients

1 cup self-raising flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 cup brown sugar
80g butter, melted, cooled
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
Whipped Cream or Cream straight from the bottle.

Sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar - sifted
2 tablespoons cocoa powder - sifted
1 & 1/4 cups boiling water

Directions:
Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease an ovenproof baking dish - one that doesn't leak - as boiling water may leak out if not securely sealed arounf bottom of baking dish. I use a square cak tin. Sift flour and cocoa into a large bowl.

Stir in sugar. Combine butter, milk and egg.
Slowly add to flour mixture, whisking until well combined and smooth. Pour into baking dish. Smooth top with a spatular/bread knife.

Make sauce - (follow sauce recipe).
Sprinkle combined sugar and cocoa over pudding.
Slowly pour boiling water over the top of chocolate mixture and brown sugar & cocoa mix.
Place dish into the centre of the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or when a skewer comes away clean when inserted into the middle of the dessert. Serve hot with cream, ice cream and strawberries - during summer.

The kids will be asking for more - my younger sister and brother love this desert!
