  What a lovely vibe the Golden Bell has! We were a party of friends and family staying at the YHA.The place was recommended to us by another backpacker. We had whole fish- outstanding! We found ourselves embarrassed with no cash at the end of the meal. The delightful hostess could not have been more gracious when she offered for us to pay tomorrow. We couldn't do that and scraped up the money somehow (it was 2 years ago memory is a bit dull) I still tell this story to anyone going to Nelson-- hope she has had a lot of customers thanks to her good dharma! A highlight of the holiday.

  We enjoyed a meal out with friends on Friday at Golden Bell. Luckily we had booked because the place was packed when we arrived. The menu is extensive with all the Thai classics you would expect. We started off with the entree starter for 4, which was exceptionally great value for money and fun to share. All the mains were of very generous size and very tasty. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I can highly recommend their red curry with seafood (my mouth is watering now just thinking about it). The staff were all very pleasant and did a great job. We left completely full and satisfied. Two thumbs up and the best Thai in Nelson!!
