It pays to start the day with a hearty breakfast, and this is the place to get it. Only a few minutes from Cathedral Square, this air-conditioned, American-style diner serves all-day breakfasts and boasts cubicles seating four people each. The service is of the fast, no-nonsense variety. Visiting lumberjacks can tuck into a Drexel's Special of eggs, hash brown, toast, bacon or ham or sausage, and pancakes or French toast. The Farmers Breakfast includes eggs, beef hash, bacon, sausage and tomato. Egg fans can get them any style, while pancake lovers can hoe into thick, luscious stacks. Toast is included with all meals.

    Great place for breakfasts. Ideal for the family weekend breakfast out although it can be a little busy. They have a kids breakfast menu which is just marvelous. "Kids Mixed Platter" is a real hit for our kids. My husband and I love the "Farmer's Breakfast", and "Salmon Eggs Benedict".

    i had the pleasure of going to Drexels on several occasions as i live near by. The food and service was Excellent. I cannot fault them for anything as there was nothing wrong. I learned our cook was Aroha.

    I had the pleasure of dining at Drexels restaurant three times while visiting family and friends. The food and service each time was of a very high standard and our waitress on one occassion was very friendly and helpful ( I think her name was Louise ... she told us she is coming to Auckland to go in the navy). I look forward to visiting on my return trip and have recommend your restaurant to friends and work colleagues as a must when visiting Christchurch. :-) favourite dish ... pancakes with bacon/banana and your hashbrowns ... its all yummy!
