  What a find! We stumbled upon it with our 9 month old and stayed for hours. Coolest bar probably in the world. Nice food too.

  The Abbey is a MUST to visit when you are in the Nelson region. The ambience is truly outstanding, you'll have to visit this converted church to see why. There is also a lovely outdoor area complete with a kids playground (if you have little ones). The food is excellent, I can highly recommend the Whitebait fritters (plenty of whitebait in them) from the lunch menu and also the steak sandwich which has sweet, caramalised onions and a hollandaise sauce. The beer and wine list is outstanding. Definitely in my Top 5 for Nelson places to eat.
