At Pinnacles Backpackers we pride ourselves on providing a comfortable environment to relax in, after spending the day hiking our local bush walks, swimming at the beach or just chilling out at home. You can also enjoy: surfing, kayaking, fishing, watching the sea birds, or just sitting and meditating on the waves.

Our hostel is the perfect place to stay while visiting Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove (a 30 minute scenic drive gets you there!) We have spades, to dig your very own spa hole at Hot Water Beach.

Tairua may not be the adventure capital of New Zealand, but it's not called the "Jewel By The Sea", for nothing. Check out our white sandy beaches, climb Mount Paku: our very own extinct volcano for a wonderful 360 degree view of the sea, harbour, and our twin town Pauanui.
