Debretts is a small backpackers located in the tranquil setting of Kenepuru Sound. It is nestled amongst beautiful New Zealand bush, and hosts a stunning view of Portage Bay.

The comfortable three-bedroom house is a great place to relax. An outside deck runs the length of the building and has enough room for everyone to enjoy the view. It is the perfect place to put your feet up and have a cold beer or Malborough wine while watching the sunset.

BY CAR - Debretts is located in Portage Bay just off Kenepru Drive. It is accessible by boat, car, and plane. The last 30-40 minutes of this drive is along a twisting, but stunningly scenic road. There are many look out points. You may want to allow time to do this portion slowly and enjoy the views.

BY BOAT - Water taxis run both scheduled and chartered runs (it is best to book ahead of time). It is a half hour walk over Torea Saddle to Debretts, but a taxi can be arranged by appointment (ask when booking your accommodation).

Debretts can accommodate up to six people. Three rooms are available, two twin/double rooms and one bunkroom. Kitchen and bathroom are shared facilities; the kitchen is fully self-contained. It is ideal accommodation for families, small groups, and individuals.
