Welcome to our Backpackers/Hostel in sunny Nelson, right in the centre of town on Trafalgar Street! Nelson is all about sunshine, beaches, amazing walks and views.Festivals and events are held throughout the year and activities can be found for every type of traveller. It is the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park and peaceful Golden Bay for the recreation enthusiasts. Nelson has a cinema, museums, art galleries, historic places to visit, heritage walks and loads of places to eat & shop, all of which are literally at your doorstep. Trafalgar Park/stadium which hosts 3 world cup rugby games is literally 5 minutes walk down the road.

Formally known as the "Retreat" and "Central" backpackers, once we moved in, we undertook renovations to bring Aurora Backpackers to our desired standard and are very pleased with the results. We have 14 rooms available in our central city location. Wi-Fi is available in every room and we have a well equipped communal kitchen. The complimentary breakfast is a must for any wary traveller to set you up for the days adventures.Your hosts Holly and Ger will be happy to help you during your stay in Nelson with things to do, local information and tour bookings. We are also members of the BBH network.
