From grandkids to grandparents - the Skyline Luge is fun filled gravity ride for all ages and abilities! Choose from two tracks, one scenic and gentle, the other advanced and adventurous.
The Scenic track is a leisurely ride with gentle gradient, easy bends and dips with several rest areas giving riders plenty of opportunity to stop and take great photographs and enjoy panoramic views.
The Advanced track has a steeper gradient and is a more adventurous ride with the thrill of banked corners, a tunnel, dips and hollows.
Situated behind the Skyline complex, the Luge tracks wind 800 metres down through the trees, with spectacular views of Queenstown and The Remarkables, to finish beside the main complex.
The free two-seater chairlift takes riders and luge carts back to the top to do it all again, because once is never enough!
It's safe too. You're in full control! A unique braking and steering system on your three-wheeled luge cart means you can alter course and speed at will. Go fast, go slow, stop to take photos, you decide.
A walking track also accesses the top of the luge with overhead bridges the perfect spot to watch or take photos of friends and family flying past. Or take the free chairlift for an aerial view, then walk down, the choice is yours.

Comments / Reviews of Skyline Luge Queenstown
The view from the gondola is absolutely amazing, as you are overlooking Queenstown, mountain ranges, and Lake Wakitipu. The Luge is so much fun, and not at all scary. There is a learners track, and an advanced track, so it is safe and fun for the whole family. As James said, one ride just won't be enough.
On our last trip to Queenstown we decided to hit the luge.. The gondola ride up is awesome - it's very steep in places so it might be a bit scary if you're afraid of heights! Once you reach the top, the view is absolutely breathtaking - easy to see why the mountain range is called "The Remarkables".
Don't worry about luging being difficult, you get instructions before you go and the carts are really easy to control (turning and braking). No problem for young kids. There are 2 tracks to choose from: the scenic track is good for beginners but I'd recommend the advanced track to get some good speed and airtime :)
Also - be sure to buy a multi ride pack because 1 ride just won't be enough - it's also quite a good saving.
