My Sis bought me a skydive for my 30th with Skydive Abel Tasman and it was amazing. It's hard to put in to words this incredible experience, you need to experience it for yourself. The team at Skydive Abel Tasman were great and the views were outstanding. It's a great spot to skydive in New Zealand. I agree with mal rider that the dvd/photo package was a little pricey but for the cost there is your own personal photographer skydiving next to you to capture the whole experience.

WOW! This would have to be the most exciting thing I've ever done.
Awesome staff from Fiona at front desk explaining everything, to Mike #1 my legendary tandem guide, to Mike #2 my personal camera man taking high res photos and video.
At all times I felt 100% safe and looked after because of the super friendly and professional crew.

We started with a beautiful 15 minute scenic flight up to 13,000 feet, with stunning views of Tasman Bay, then Golden Bay and Farewell Spit as we climbed higher.
Now obviously what it's all about - the JUMP! At 13,000 feet the door opened and Mike #2 climbed out of the plane to capture the moment. I shuffled into position, tightly secured to Mike #1 with my feet dangling out of the plane.
I reckon sitting there waiting to jump is the most alive that you can feel as a human - until it gets amplified again when you actually fly out of the plane into the sky!
Instantly accelerating to terminal velocity, we enjoyed a full on 50 second free fall! It's sensory overload just ripping through the sky at 200km / hour, trying to take it all in, then having a camera man approach and shake your hand.. Wicked!!
At 5000 feet Mike pulled the chute and we slowed right down for a nice mellow 4 minute glide to the ground, where Mike #2 was waiting to capture our perfect touch down.

The DVD / Photo package is a little pricey, but it's an absolute must have..
It's amazingly produced and each time I watch it I relive the moment that I jumped out of a perfectly good aeroplane at 13,000 feet!
Thanks guys - I think I've found my new hobby :)
