After meeting your guide at your accommodation, your days begins on the TranzAlpine as you travel across the Canterbury Plains, across viaducts and through tunnels of the Waimakariri Gorge into the amazing New Zealand high country and Arthur’s Pass National Park.

On your walk get up close and personal with the New Zealand beech forest and the vast array of flora and fauna (your walking guide is very clever, he knows all the plant names!), pristine mountain streams, alpine flowers, an alpine wetland and mountain and glacier views. This is the great outdoors that can only be New Zealand!

After the walk spend some time checking out the local sites and National Park Visitor Centre before your drive back to town along the stunning Alpine Highway: See alpine lakes, limestone formations, ancient Maori sites, New Zealand’s largest braided river and the peaks and glaciers of the Southern Alps.
