Southern Lakes Heliski specializes in exclusive groups and daily group skiing. They provide excellent personalized service with a wide variety of options to choose from.

When you ski with Southern Lakes Heliski you ski or ride with the best team of guides and pilots in New Zealand. Each season our personnel take great pride in providing the best overall heliskiing / heliboarding trip by focusing on our guests' safety and enjoyment. Southern Lakes Heliski skis or rides with one guide and a maximum of 5 guests. We are totally flexible. This is your dream day during your ski holiday in Queenstown and Wanaka. Choose the options that suits you best. From Glaciers to gentle or steep, beginner or expert, it is up to you. Endless mountains or pristine, untouched terrain is all waiting for you.

Heliskiing is suitable for 'intermediate' and 'advanced' skiers & snowboarders. If you can handle 'blue' runs, you can heliski. You also need to be fit and enthusiastic to try powder skiing / snowboarding.

A Day With Southern Lakes Heliski

7.00 - 7.45am: Lead guides check weather and snow conditions.
7.50 - 8.15am: Early morning call and weather report to clients.
Approximately 30 minutes later, transportation from your accommodation to the staging area for the day.

AT THE STAGING AREA: all groups are given an extensive safety briefing covering: the use of avalanche transceivers; safety in and around the helicopter and a mountain safety briefing.

HELISKI & HELIRIDE: Now you are ready to fly to the top of the first run. Ski & Ride approximately two thirds of your chosen option.

LUNCH: The well renowned Southern Lakes Heliski gourmet lunch is served on a freshly built snow table, with a breathtaking backdrop of mountains.

AFTER LUNCH: We ski/ride the remainder of our runs and then fly back to the staging area. Upon returning back to town we will drive you back to your accommodation.

The photos which were taken on the day can be purchased 60 min upon arriving back in Queenstown at our Helishop.
