If you are in the Otago region and love chocolate then this is the ultimate tour for you. This is a kid's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" dream come true!!
Cadbury World is located in the centre of Dunedin city at the Cadbury Factory site. The Visitors Centre is a colourful and educational environment with chocolate themed displays where you can learn about the history of Cadbury and chocolate through the ages. The investment cost to establish New Zealand's Cadbury World is over $2 million, so there is plenty to see. The actual factory tour last for 75 minutes and is very reasonably priced.
Take a fun filled and fascinating guided tour around the Cadbury Dunedin chocolate factory and sample Cadbury product along the way! The factory produces many of the top selling chocolate lines in the country including such New Zealand icons as Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, Creme Egg, Roses, Continental and Milk Tray Chocolate Assortments, Moro, and Crunchie. Included is a visit to the unique chocolate fall housed in a five storey high, decommissioned crumb silo.
To avoid disppointment, bookings are advised. Phone 0800 223287 (within New Zealand) to make your booking.
Cadbury World tours are available 7 days a week.
Tours generally run from 9am to 3.15pm with extended hours over the summer season and school holidays.
Cadbury World is closed 25, 26 Dec and 1, 2 Jan.

Comments / Reviews of Cadbury World
It's not exactly like Willy Wonka would have it but worth seeing. You can't take photos during the tour, which was understandable but disappointing. The guides are knowledgable and interesting and take it at a reasonable pace. The kids learned heaps on the way through and everyone enjoyed the free samples. The gift shop has a good selection of chocolate and other products too.
A wonderful real life 'willy wonka chocolate factory' experience. A must for any choco-holic, plus you get to snack on Cadbury chocolate along the way.
