    A great way to check out some of the local Nelson wineries. We did the half day trip, "groovy day out" and I must say our host Marion was excellent with plenty of informative facts about the region and the wines. Our trip took us to Waimea Estates, Seified Estate, Stafford Lane Estate and finally Grape Escape where we tried Te Mania wines and Richmond Plains organic wine. Waimea and Seified are larger wineries and sampling many of their wines was a real treat. I must say that the highlight for me was the visit to Stafford Lane Estate, which is a very small boutique winery which produces some marvelous hand crafted wines. Angela at Stafford Lane was wonderful and kept us well entertained and informed as we not only sampled the wines but also the olives and olive oils.
